CONGRATULATING Hayleigh Palotti upon the occasion
of winning the 2017 New York State Public High
School Athletic Association Class C Cross Country
Championship

WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can only be
achieved by those outstanding individuals who demonstrate the qualities
that lead to success in athletics, academics and life in this great
Empire State; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize
those young people within our community who, by achieving outstanding
success in athletic competitions, have inspired and brought pride to
their school district and community; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Hayleigh Palotti upon the occasion of winning the 2017 New
York State Public High School Athletic Association, Class C, Cross
Country Championship; and

WHEREAS, Hayleigh Palotti has once again demonstrated her profound
commitment to being one of the very best cross country athletes in New
York State; she has captured her second Cross Country title, making her
the only Section V girl to win two straight state titles in any class,
since girls competition began in 1974; and

WHEREAS, Hayleigh Palotti dominated the 3.1-mile course at Wayne
Central High School with an exceptional 19 minutes, 24.6 second finish;
and

WHEREAS, This is a huge victory for the Livonia Central School
District, and the community; Hayleigh rightfully shares this victory
with Coach Dave Crabb and her Strength and Conditioning Coach, Paul Dick
as they always help her properly prepare for races; and

WHEREAS, Hayleigh Palotti has excelled and clearly has a very bright
future ahead of her; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize those high school athlete-scholars who have achieved notable
success in this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Hayleigh Palotti for her perseverance and dedication in
aspiring for success in her high school Cross Country career, and for
winning the 2017 New York State Public High School Athletic Association,
Class C, Cross Country Championship; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Hayleigh Palotti.
