HONORING Antonio Mogavero upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2018 Rookie of the
Year Award by the Big Tree Volunteer Fire Company

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to honor the
youth of today, the leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
achievements exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, The firefighters of New York State are renowned throughout
the Nation; their reputation is synonymous with excellence in the
arduous field of fire protection and prevention; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Antonio Mogavero upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2018 Rookie of the Year Award by the Big Tree Volunteer Fire
Company, Hamburg, New York; and

WHEREAS, Volunteer firefighters and fire departments not only
provide the critical service of fire protection but also engage in other
activities of great benefit and importance to the communities they
serve; and

WHEREAS, It takes a special dedication, a strong desire to help
others and a tireless sense of community to forsake precious time with
family and friends to respond to the signal that a neighbor is in need;
Antonio Mogavero is such a firefighter; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
young people of outstanding character, who have shown initiative and
commitment toward constantly pursuing higher goals for themselves, and
acting as role models of leadership to be emulated by their peers; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Antonio Mogavero upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the 2018 Rookie of the Year Award by the Big Tree Volunteer Fire
Company; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Antonio Mogavero.
