COMMENDING Karen Fisher upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the 2017
Sullivan County Democrat honoring Professional Women
and Women in Business

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Karen Fisher has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Karen
Fisher upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the 2017 Sullivan County Democrat honoring Professional Women and Women
in Business; and

WHEREAS, Karen Fisher, affectionately known as Fish, has been the
co-owner and operator of FisherMears Associates, a boutique marketing
communications company, since 1995; as company president and chief
copywriter she is responsible for business development and client
relationships; and

WHEREAS, In addition, she serves as a meetings facilitator in
Monticello for Weight Watchers International, a position she has held
since 2002; and

WHEREAS, Karen Fisher began her illustrious career in marketing
communications in 1983, as a full-time copywriter for Alan Gerry's
Cablevision Industries in Liberty, New York; and

WHEREAS, A former recreational softball player for Charlie's Angels
of the Monticello Women's Softball League, Karen Fisher currently plays
USTA Tennis in the Mid-Hudson region; and

WHEREAS, Karen Fisher holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications
and Media Arts from Centenary College in Hackettstown, New Jersey; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout has been her husband who has shown her
love and support and rejoices in her many achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Karen Fisher has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Karen Fisher, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it


RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Karen Fisher upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the 2017 Sullivan County Democrat honoring Professional
Women and Women in Business; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Karen Fisher.
