COMMENDING Lisa Layman upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the 2017
Sullivan County Democrat honoring Professional Women
and Women in Business

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Lisa Layman has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Lisa
Layman upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the 2017 Sullivan County Democrat honoring Professional Women and Women
in Business; and

WHEREAS, Lisa Layman earned both her bachelor's degree and master's
degree from St. John's University; currently, she is working on her
doctorate degree at SUNY Binghamton; and

WHEREAS, In addition, Lisa Layman holds a New York State Teacher
Certificate, and an Advanced Certificate in School Building Leadership
from the College of New Rochelle; and

WHEREAS, For 30 years, Lisa Layman has served as an educator; for 20
years she was a teacher, and for the last 10 years, she has held the
title of Principal of St. Peter's Regional School in Liberty, New York;
and

WHEREAS, Lisa Layman truly loves her job; every single morning, she
looks forward to saying hello to each and every one of her students, and
loves to have conversations with them; and

WHEREAS, When she is not working, Lisa Layman likes to read and stay
fit by running and taking long walks with her dog Bacca; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Larry, and their
two sons, Joe (Lauren) and Matthew (Jenn), all of whom have shown her
love and support and rejoice in her many achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Lisa Layman has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Lisa Layman upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the 2017 Sullivan County Democrat honoring Professional
Women and Women in Business; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Lisa Layman.
