HONORING Sydney Marino upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2018 Scholarship
Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Sydney Marino upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2018 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter
of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated at the 20th
Annual Tuition Assistance Awards Gala, "Celebrating A Twenty Year Legacy
of Mentoring Excellence" on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Anthony's
Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and

WHEREAS, The daughter of a member of the New York Air National Guard
105th Airlift Wing at Stewart Airport, Sydney Marino is an exceptional
student-athlete at Newtown High School in Connecticut; for four years,
she has been a member of the school's field hockey team which won the
Connecticut South Western Conference Championship; and

WHEREAS, Sydney Marino also acted in the school's plays, and studied
public speaking and debating in preparation of her future career as an
Imagineer with the Walt Disney Company; after graduation, she plans on
continuing her education studying mechanical engineering at Fairfield
University; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her high school career, Sydney Marino has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and

WHEREAS, Sydney Marino, in achieving this academic honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence she brings to her family, friends, community and school; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sydney Marino upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2018 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and to extend best wishes for a future
of purposeful success and well-being; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Sydney Marino.
