HONORING Bryan Moise upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2018 Scholarship
Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Bryan Moise upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
2018 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter
of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated at the 20th
Annual Tuition Assistance Awards Gala, "Celebrating A Twenty Year Legacy
of Mentoring Excellence" on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Anthony's
Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and
WHEREAS, An exceptional student-athlete at Paramus Catholic High
School, Bryan Moise earned his first degree Tae Kwon Do Black Belt at
the young age of eight, and finished sixth out of 156 fencers in the
2017 Division 3 Men's Sabre National Competition; in 2014, he became a
volunteer basketball coach in Manhattan for young people with
disabilities; and
WHEREAS, Bryan Moise has been recruited by NYU for its fencing team,
and plans on pursuing a dual degree program in business and accounting;
during this time, he hopes to compete in the 2020 Olympics; and
WHEREAS, A young man of many interests, Bryan Moise had a role in
the off-Broadway play "All My Struggles" at the Apollo Theater in
Harlem, and a part in the movie "The Rhythm in Blue"; he is also a
member of the Lee A. Archer Jr. Red Tail Youth Flying Program where he
plans on attaining his pilot's license; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his high school career, Bryan Moise has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and
WHEREAS, Bryan Moise, in achieving this academic honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence he brings to his family, friends, community and school; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Bryan Moise upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2018 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and to extend best wishes for a future
of purposeful success and well-being; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Bryan Moise.
