HONORING Cesar Micklick upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2017 Scholarship
Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Cesar Micklick upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
2017 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter
of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated at the 19th
Annual Tuition Assistance Awards Gala on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at
Anthony's Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and

WHEREAS, A senior at Valley Central High School, Cesar Micklick is a
member of the National Honor Society, Spanish, Science and English Honor
Societies, and the math team; he is also enrolled in Med-Achieve, a
medical career program operated by Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine
which has enabled him to attend medical lectures and be mentored by
current medical students; and

WHEREAS, Cesar Micklick serves as a volunteer at the Orange Regional
Medical Center in Middletown, New York, as he plans to pursue a career
as a surgeon; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his high school career, Cesar Micklick has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and

WHEREAS, Cesar Micklick, in achieving this academic honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence he brings to his family, friends, community and school; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Cesar Micklick upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the 2017 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and to extend best wishes for a future
of purposeful success and well-being; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Cesar Micklick.
