HONORING Miracle James upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2017 Scholarship
Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Miracle James upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2017 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter
of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated at the 19th
Annual Tuition Assistance Awards Gala on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at
Anthony's Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and

WHEREAS, A high-ranking senior at Newburgh Free Academy (NFA),
Miracle James plans to attend the State University of New York at
Binghamton to pursue her dream of becoming a child psychologist to help
children cope with the many stresses of growing up; and

WHEREAS, Miracle James gives tirelessly of her time and energies to
such local organizations as the AME Zion Church of Newburgh and the
Newburgh Community Service Program; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her high school career, Miracle James has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and

WHEREAS, Miracle James, in achieving this academic honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of
excellence she brings to her family, friends, community and school; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Miracle James upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2017 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and to extend best wishes for a future
of purposeful success and well-being; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Miracle James.
