HONORING the Anne M. Dorner Middle School Glee
Club upon the occasion of their participation in
Music In Our Schools Month 2018

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging
its esteemed entities that have distinguished themselves in their
community; and

WHEREAS, The Anne M. Dorner Middle School Glee Club will participate
in Music In Our Schools Month with a performance in the Concourse of the
Empire State Plaza on March 14, 2018; and

WHEREAS, The New York State School Music Association sponsors this
event and has helped it evolve from a New York State Day into a
month-long national observance; and

WHEREAS, Talent, dedication and countless hours of practice have
made the Anne M. Dorner Middle School Glee Club the outstanding ensemble
it is today; and

WHEREAS, Skillfully led by Laura Lee Spence, the members of the Anne
M. Dorner Middle School Glee Club work hard at their music rehearsals,
classroom assignments and practice sessions, fully aware that the amount
of time and energy they are willing to expend directly affects the
quality of their music; and

WHEREAS, The Anne M. Dorner Middle School Glee Club, along with
their parents and teachers, can be justifiably proud of their musical
achievements and their participation in Music In Our Schools Month; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Anne M. Dorner Middle School Glee Club upon the occasion of
their participation in Music In Our Schools Month 2018; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Laura Lee Spence, Director of the Anne M. Dorner Middle
School Glee Club.
