HONORING the Horace Greeley High School String
Orchestra upon the occasion of their participation
in Music In Our Schools Month 2018
WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging
its esteemed entities that have distinguished themselves in their
community; and
WHEREAS, The Horace Greeley High School String Orchestra will
participate in Music In Our Schools Month with a performance in the
Concourse of the Empire State Plaza on March 20, 2018; and
WHEREAS, The New York State School Music Association sponsors this
event and has helped it evolve from a New York State Day into a
month-long national observance; and
WHEREAS, Talent, dedication and countless hours of practice have
made the Horace Greeley High School String Orchestra the outstanding
ensemble it is today; and
WHEREAS, Skillfully led by Kathleen Feldman, the members of the
Horace Greeley High School String Orchestra work hard at their music
rehearsals, classroom assignments and practice sessions, fully aware
that the amount of time and energy they are willing to expend directly
affects the quality of their music; and
WHEREAS, The Horace Greeley High School String Orchestra members,
along with their parents and teachers, can be justifiably proud of their
musical achievements and their participation in Music In Our Schools
Month; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Horace Greeley High School String Orchestra upon the occasion
of their participation in Music In Our Schools Month 2018; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Kathleen Feldman, Director of the Horace Greeley High
School String Orchestra.
