HONORING Body By Denise upon the occasion of its
designation for special recognition by Community
Youth Care Services on March 10, 2018, in
conjunction with the celebration of its 31st
Anniversary
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that the quality
of life of the citizens of the State of New York is greatly enriched by
its exceptional cultural, educational and recreational institutions;
these institutions give positive definition to the profile and
disposition of the communities of the State of New York and profoundly
strengthen our society with their commitment; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Body By Denise upon the occasion of its designation for special
recognition by Community Youth Care Services on Saturday, March 10,
2018, at PS 176, Queens, New York, in conjunction with the celebration
of its 31st Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, Body by Denise was founded by Denise Warren in 1987, with a
small group of participants in the Rochdale Village community rooms in
Queens, New York; and
WHEREAS, Today, due to its popularity and ever expanding membership,
Body By Denise is currently operating in our community schools; and
WHEREAS, Body by Denise is an intense, yet fun-filled, group fitness
class that services well over 350 men and women from the five boroughs
of New York, as well as Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties; and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous direction of Denise Warren, Body By
Denise has helped over 200 people lose 100-300 pounds each, and
countless others reach similar health and fitness goals; and
WHEREAS, Additionally, this extraordinary woman began teaching free
classes specifically for children in an effort to end the epidemic of
childhood obesity by teaching them about exercise, fitness and wellness;
and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 31-year history, Body By Denise has
demonstrated continuous service to the residents and communities which
it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and businesses of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Body By Denise upon the occasion of its designation for special
recognition by Community Youth Care Services on March 10, 2018, in
conjunction with the celebration of its 31st Anniversary; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Denise Warren, Body By Denise, Queens, New York.
