COMMEMORATING the 50th Annual Awards Dinner of the
Cuba New York Chamber of Commerce, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
acknowledge certain exemplary organizations that strive to provide
business opportunities and economic development to their communities
within this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 50th Annual Awards Dinner of the Cuba New York Chamber
of Commerce, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, The Cuba New York Chamber of Commerce, Inc. hosted its
first annual dinner and awards ceremony in 1968, and it is the Chamber's
longest running event; since then, members have come together annually
to honor outgoing Officers and Directors as well as welcome their
successors; this celebration includes distinguished Business and
Community Awards and Scholarship presentations, in addition to providing
the opportunity to network with business leaders and local officials;
and

WHEREAS, The Cuba New York Chamber of Commerce Inc.'s investment in
the health, well-being and growth of Cuba's business community is
essential in maintaining the vitality of the region; and

WHEREAS, The Cuba New York Chamber of Commerce, Inc. was founded in
1914, during World War I, to foster the trade and commerce of the Town
of Cuba; since then, it has been actively attracting new businesses
while also revitalizing existing businesses; and

WHEREAS, The Cuba New York Chamber of Commerce, Inc. sponsors and
organizes events throughout the year, and provides annual scholarships
for qualified Cuba-Rushford seniors; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commemorate
milestones in the histories of certain exceptional organizations in this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Annual Awards Dinner of the Cuba New York Chamber
of Commerce, Inc.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Cuba New York Chamber of Commerce, Inc.
