HONORING the Student Volunteers of the Vigilant
Fire Company Emergency Medical Services upon the
occasion of their designation as Distinguished
Students by SHAI

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
the Student Volunteers of the Vigilant Fire Company Emergency Medical
Services upon the occasion of their designation as Distinguished
Students by SHAI, to be celebrated at its Biennial Gala on Wednesday,
March 14, 2018, at Temple Israel of Great Neck, New York; and

WHEREAS, Sephardic Heritage Alliance Inc. (SHAI) is a non-profit
organization dedicated to meeting the needs of the local Persian Jewish
community; and

WHEREAS, The Student Volunteers of the Vigilant Fire Company
Emergency Medical Services are being recognized with this auspicious
award in recognition of their exceptional achievements within the
Persian Jewish community; and

WHEREAS, These Student Volunteers have distinguished themselves in
their superlative abilities, establishing a high standard of excellence
and purposefulness of life rarely achieved in youthful years; and

WHEREAS, The Student Volunteers of the Vigilant Fire Company
Emergency Medical Services may take just pride in the inspiration and
contribution to the spirit of excellence they bring to their family,
friends, community and school; and

WHEREAS, With their sense of civic duty and their commitment to
others, the Student Volunteers of the Vigilant Fire Company Emergency
Medical Services represent the best development of the potential which
is inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Student Volunteers of the Vigilant Fire Company Emergency
Medical Services upon the occasion of their designation as Distinguished
Students by SHAI; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Student Volunteers of the Vigilant Fire Company
Emergency Medical Services.
