HONORING Lisa Daftari upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Elyahoo Amirian
Leadership Award by SHAI

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Lisa Daftari has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Lisa Daftari
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Elyahoo Amirian
Leadership Award by SHAI, to be celebrated at its Biennial Gala on
Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Temple Israel of Great Neck, New York; and

WHEREAS, Sephardic Heritage Alliance Inc. (SHAI) is a non-profit
organization dedicated to meeting the needs of the local Persian Jewish
community; and

WHEREAS, Called upon to contribute her time and talents to countless
civic and charitable endeavors, Lisa Daftari has always given of herself
unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Lisa Daftari, Investigative Journalist of International
Affairs and Fox New Correspondent, Lisa Daftari is being recognized with
this auspicious award in recognition of her exceptional achievements
within the Persian Jewish community; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Lisa Daftari has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Lisa Daftari has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Lisa Daftari, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Lisa Daftari upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Elyahoo Amirian Leadership Award by SHAI; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Lisa Daftari.
