Senate Resolution No. 4028

COMMENDING Jacobowitz and Gubits, LLP upon the
occasion of celebrating its 50th Anniversary
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to publicly
commend those law firms which substantially contribute to the well-being
of the community by providing outstanding legal service to those in
need; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Jacobowitz and Gubits, LLP upon the occasion of its 50th
Anniversary, by celebrating "50 Years of Caring"; and
WHEREAS, Since 1968, Jacobowitz and Gubits, LLP (J&G) has provided
the highest quality legal services to individuals, businesses,
non-profit organizations, and municipalities throughout the Hudson
Valley; and
WHEREAS, Founded by Gerald N. Jacobowitz and David Gubits, J&G has
grown into a thriving practice with over 20 attorneys and a full staff
of paralegals and legal assistants; and
WHEREAS, Along with its founders, J&G is comprised of nine other
partners: Mark A. Krohn, Esq., J. Benjamin Gailey, Esq., William E.
Duquette, Esq., George W. Lithco, Esq., John C. Cappello, Esq., Howard
Protter, Esq., Michele L. Babcock, Esq., Marcia A. Jacobowitz, Esq., and
Gary M. Schuster, Esq.; and
WHEREAS, Through the diversified skills of its dedicated attorneys,
J&G handles a wide range of legal matters including civil litigation,
criminal law, bankruptcy, elder law, estate planning, employment law,
matrimonial and family law, commercial and residential real estate,
business formations and transactions, arts and entertainment, criminal
law, environmental law, municipal law, planning and zoning law, equine
law, taxation and tax planning, and health care law; and
WHEREAS, Today, J&G continues to contribute to the local community
by volunteering and providing pro-bono services to over 50 local
charities and non-profit organizations in the region; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
commends Jacobowitz and Gubits, LLP for its excellence and for its
commitment and contributions to the community it has so ably served for
the past fifty years; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Jacobowitz and Gubits, LLP upon the occasion of celebrating its
50th Anniversary, and to wish this law firm continued success in its
vital work on behalf of its clients; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jacobowitz and Gubits, LLP.
