COMMEMORATING the 50th Anniversary of Pierce Steel
Fabricators, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to honor and
commemorate the proud and distinguished histories of exceptional
businesses that are a part of the community and comprise the noble body
of this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accordance with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Pierce Steel Fabricators, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, Pierce Steel Fabricators, Inc., a family business, was
established in 1967, with Milo Mazza and additional investors, including
some family, purchased Pierce Steel Roofing Company and Incorporated as
Pierce Steel; Milo Mazza, who was the President of the Mazza Sheet Metal
Company that would later become Mazza Mechanical, then transitioned to
President of Pierce Steel, with Joe DeRose taking over Mazza Sheet
Metal; the two companies located to their current site in the same
building in the early 1970s; and

WHEREAS, Pierce Steel Fabricators, Inc. specializes in all types of
metal fabrication for commercial and industrial customers; they have a
dedicated and exceptional staff that goes above and beyond to satisfy
their customers' needs; Pierce Steel currently employs 15 full-time
employees and ships its steel products, which include everything from
tanks to railings, globally; this exceptional company has worked with
NASA, Boeing, Caterpillar, and Tesla, in addition to local companies
like Dresser-Rand; and

WHEREAS, Mike DeRose is the current President of Pierce Steel
Fabricators, Inc., and celebrating 50 years in business has given him a
chance to reflect on his family's decades of work, innovation and
commitment to not just the steel industry, but also contributions made
to the community; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize and honor milestones in the history of communities large and
small in this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Pierce Steel Fabricators, Inc.; and
be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mike DeRose, President of Pierce Steel Fabricators, Inc.
