COMMENDING Pastor Bridgette LeConey upon the
occasion of her designation for special recognition
by the 2016 Sullivan County Democrat honoring
Professional Women and Women in Business

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Bridgette LeConey has given not only of her time and
energies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Bridgette
LeConey upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the 2016 Sullivan County Democrat honoring Professional Women and Women
in Business; and

WHEREAS, Bridgette LeConey earned her bachelor's degree in Community
and Human Services and master's degree in Liberal Arts from Empire State
College in Saratoga Springs, New York; she also received her pastoral
certification from Wesley Theological Seminary; and

WHEREAS, For over 37 years, Bridgette LeConey has served as the
Pastor for both Liberty and White Sulphur Springs United Methodist
Churches; and

WHEREAS, In addition to her role of Pastor, Bridgette LeConey serves
on the Community Advisory Board at the Catskill Regional Medical Center
and is a member of the Faith Committee of Hospice of Sullivan and Orange
Counties; and

WHEREAS, Devoted to her profession, Bridgette LeConey is a teacher
at the Licensing School for people going into ministry at the New York
Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church; she also facilitates a
grief and loss support group for the patrons of the church; and

WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Joseph "Bud"
LeConey and her two step-children, Jason and Josh, all of whom feel
privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Bridgette LeConey has
displayed throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Bridgette LeConey upon the occasion of her designation for

special recognition by the 2016 Sullivan County Democrat honoring
Professional Women and Women in Business; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Bridgette LeConey.
