HONORING Reverend Timothy Flythe upon the occasion
of his designation for special recognition by the
Tri Community and Youth Agency on March 22, 2018
WHEREAS, The character and richness of religious and community life
in this noble Empire State are nourished and fulfilled through the
faithful concern and selfless devotion of those who commit their
energies and purpose to the ministry of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to bring full
recognition and just tribute to individuals who distinguish themselves
and the ministry through their unremitting commitment and preeminence of
service; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Reverend Timothy Flythe upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Tri Community and Youth Agency, to be celebrated at
its Hall of Honor event on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at the Woodbury
Country Club, Woodbury, New York; and
WHEREAS, One of ten children born to the late Joseph Flythe and
Earline Robinson, Timothy Flythe is a product of the South Huntington
School District and holds an Associate's degree from Suffolk Community
College; and
WHEREAS, Timothy Flythe began his illustrious journey in faith at
First Baptist Church of Wyandanch, where he held the office of altar boy
and later the minister of music; and
WHEREAS, Ministering at various churches across Long Island, Timothy
Flythe was generally recognized for his gift of music, but in January of
2008, he accepted the call and became a licensed minister at Faith
Missionary Baptist Church of Huntington Station; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to the ministry,
Timothy Flythe stood before a counsel of Pastors and was ordained in
June of 2014; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Timothy Flythe holds certificates and recognitions
of Theological Studies through Princeton Theological Seminary, Long
Island Progressive Bible College Graduate School of Theological Studies,
The New Life School of Theology, Yale Theological Seminary, and
Hampton's Ministers Conference; and
WHEREAS, Currently working towards his seminary degree from New York
Theological Seminary, Reverend Timothy Flythe serves Faith Missionary
Baptist Church as President of its Ministerial Ministry, Youth Pastor,
and Director of Youth Ministry; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Huntington for more than four decades,
Reverend Timothy Flythe is a loving husband and a proud father; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Timothy Flythe gives tirelessly of his time and
energies to countless local organizations and initiatives; he is a youth
mentor through the office of Legislator Dr. William Spencer, a member of
the NAACP, treasurer of Long Island Progressive Missionary Baptist
Church General Association, Inc., and the financial secretary of
Progressive Baptist State Convention of New York, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, With professional experience in real estate insurance,
restaurant management, store ownership, and as CEO of his own bus
company, Reverend Timothy Flythe currently works as a New York State 19A
Certified Examiner and bus operator for the Town of Huntington HART Bus
system; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Timothy Flythe has brought to his ministry an
overwhelming spirit of charity and compassion, acting from vision and
enlightenment in conducting his administrative and spiritual duties,
while always displaying the highest standards of personal and
professional integrity and dedication; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when a person
of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our attention it is
appropriate to publicly and jubilantly proclaim and commend that
individual for the edification of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Reverend Timothy Flythe upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the Tri Community and Youth Agency on March 22,
2018; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Reverend Timothy Flythe.
