COMMENDING Dr. Nichol Burris upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by the
National Action Network, West Nassau Chapter on
March 17, 2018
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Dr. Nichol
Burris upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the National Action Network, West Nassau Chapter to be celebrated at its
5th Annual Prestigious Women's Gala Awards on Saturday, March 17, 2018,
at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, New York; and
WHEREAS, This year's theme is "Destined for Greatness"; Dr. Nichol
Burris truly exemplifies this theme for her demonstrated exemplary work,
services, and commitment to the people of her community; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Nichol Burris is a Pastoral Counselor with Hartford
HealthCare at Home where she has worked for the past seven and one half
years; in this role, she is able to provide support and comfort to
patients and families during one of the most vulnerable times of their
lives; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Nichol Burris has the unique gifted ability to meet
patients/families where they are and affirm their spiritual beliefs; she
has helped many families work through their fears including, but not
limited to: death/dying, not feeling worthy of God's love, leaving
behind loved ones, unfinished business, forgiveness of self and others,
reconciliation, and bereavement; and
WHEREAS, Ordained in June of 2003 through the International
Ministerial Fellowship of Jameson Evangelistic Ministries, Pennsylvania,
Dr. Nichol Burris earned her Doctorate of Theology from International
Christian University in Virginia in 2008; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Nichol Burris was installed as a Pastor through New
Hope Christian Ministries in Connecticut under the leadership of Pastor
Donald Johnson, Sr. in 2013; and
WHEREAS, In 2006, Dr. Nichol Burris founded Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit Int'l Ministries which has been deemed a ministry without walls;
she is also the founder of Morning Glory Prayer in 2008 which promotes
laughter, love, healing, and deliverance; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Nichol Burris believes in healing, redemption, and
reconciliation through the power of One's faith; to empower all to
forgive, to love, and to strengthen one another through that same faith;
she believes it is through Spiritual Connectedness that one is able to
achieve joy, and happiness, especially during difficult life events to
include death/dying; people across the United States, England, and the
Caribbean have been blessed by her ministry; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Harold R.
Burris, II, and their four children, Joshua, Joziah Mattie, and Grace,
all of whom feel privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her
achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Dr. Nichol Burris has
displayed throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Dr. Nichol Burris upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by the National Action Network, West Nassau Chapter
on March 17, 2018; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Nichol Burris.
