HONORING Ila Eckhoff upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Dr. Catherine White
Achievement Award by HeartShare Human Services of
New York on April 11, 2018

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Ila Eckhoff
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Dr. Catherine
White Achievement Award by HeartShare Human Services of New York to be
celebrated at its Spring Gala on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the New
York Marriott Marquis in New York City; and

WHEREAS, The Dr. Catherine White Achievement Award is presented to a
person whose achievement in his/her chosen career has shown to benefit
at-risk populations, particularly those with intellectual/developmental
disabilities and/or children and youth; Ila Eckhoff is truly deserving
of this prestigious award; and

WHEREAS, Since 1914, HeartShare Human Services of New York has
strived to improve the lives of people in need of special services and
support; this vital non-profit organization helps individuals develop to
their fullest potential and lead meaningful and enriched lives in the
community; and

WHEREAS, After graduating from Brandeis University in 1982, Ila
Eckhoff obtained both her Master of Business Administration degree and
Certified Public Accountant license from Baruch College; and

WHEREAS, A resident of New York City, Ila Eckhoff has enjoyed a long
and distinguished career in financial services; currently, she holds the
title of Managing Director of BlackRock, the world's largest investment
firm; and

WHEREAS, In this capacity, Ila Eckhoff is a senior member of
BlackRock's Investment Operations Team responsible for Industry and
Counterparty Management, representing the company in industry forums and
on advisory committees for SIFMA, ISDA and IHS Markit; and

WHEREAS, Ila Eckhoff is devoted to her profession and community; she
sits on the Boards of Directors of the DTCC Global Trade Repository and
the Cerebral Palsy Foundation; and

WHEREAS, When she is not working or helping someone, Ila Eckhoff
loves to watch a good movie and enjoy a delicious meal with a nice glass
of wine; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a

long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ila Eckhoff upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Dr. Catherine White Achievement Award by HeartShare Human Services
of New York; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Ila Eckhoff.
