HONORING Denise Dunbar upon the occasion of her
designation as Citizen of the Year by the Grand
Island Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and
character whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in the
great State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Denise Dunbar upon the occasion of her designation as Citizen of the
Year by the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated at its
52nd Annual Awards Dinner on April 26, 2018, at the Radisson Grand
Island; and

WHEREAS, Each year, the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce looks for
businesses, organizations, teachers, individuals or someone who has gone
the extra mile and has taken the extra step above and beyond their day
to day responsibilities and jobs, in the Grand Island Community; and

WHEREAS, The Citizen of the Year Awards are presented annually to
businesses and individuals who have graciously given of their time and
energy to make Grand Island a better place, and who are the true
foundation and spirit of this great community; and

WHEREAS, Denise Dunbar has continuously demonstrated an impressive
dedication, an unparalleled devotion and an unremitting enthusiasm for
the quality of the educational programs and opportunities offered at her
school; and

WHEREAS, Educators like Denise Dunbar provide a tremendous service
to the future of our State and Nation, inspiring generations of young
people in their educational journeys and ensuring their success in their
future years; and

WHEREAS, Denise Dunbar has clearly had an enduring impact on the
youth of Grand Island, as well as on the community-at-large, and
accordingly merits recognition and applause for her impressive
dedication to others; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Denise Dunbar upon the occasion of her designation as Citizen of
the Year by the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Denise Dunbar.
