HONORING Pink Martini Gift Shop upon the occasion
of its designation as recipient of the Citizen of
the Year Award by the Grand Island Chamber of
Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
small businesses greatly contribute to the economic vitality of
communities across New York State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Pink Martini Gift Shop upon the occasion of its designation as recipient
of the Citizen of the Year Award by the Grand Island Chamber of
Commerce, to be celebrated at its 52nd Annual Awards Dinner on April 26,
2018, at the Radisson Grand Island; and

WHEREAS, Each year, the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce looks for
businesses, organizations, teachers, individuals or someone who has gone
the extra mile and has taken the extra step above and beyond their day
to day responsibilities and jobs, in the Grand Island Community; and

WHEREAS, The Citizen of the Year Awards are presented annually to
businesses and individuals who have graciously given of their time and
energy to make Grand Island a better place, and who are the true
foundation and spirit of this great community; and

WHEREAS, Small business owners exemplify the entrepreneurial spirit
which has fueled our State and Nation since their founding; and

WHEREAS, Events which honor small businesses help to enhance the
free enterprise system upon which our Nation was built; and

WHEREAS, Small businesses exert a strong positive influence on our
communities, and the future welfare of New York State depends on the
continued development of small businesses; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Pink Martini Gift Shop upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award by the Grand Island Chamber
of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Pink Martini Gift Shop.
