Senate Resolution No. 4364

COMMENDING Omar Hawthorne upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by East Flatbush
Village, Inc. on April 19, 2018

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Omar Hawthorne has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Omar
Hawthorne upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition
by East Flatbush Village, Inc. to be celebrated at its Ten Year
Anniversary Event on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at the Tropical Paradise
Ballroom in Brooklyn, New York; and

WHEREAS, Established in 2008, East Flatbush Village, Inc. diligently
works to uplift its Neighbors with Neighbors; this vital not-for-profit
organization provides programs for young people and provides resources
to the entire family which in turn will repair the community; and

WHEREAS, Omar Hawthorne holds the title of Director of Franchise
Development and Community Affairs at Golden Krust, a bakery and grill
which diligently works to provide the taste of the Caribbean to the
world; and

WHEREAS, Omar Hawthorne has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Omar Hawthorne has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Omar Hawthorne has displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Omar Hawthorne upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by East Flatbush Village, Inc. on April 19, 2018; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Omar Hawthorne.
