HONORING Lisa Mammone Rossi upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by St.
Edmund Preparatory High School on April 22, 2018
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Lisa Mammone Rossi has given not only of her time and
energies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Lisa Mammone
Rossi upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
St. Edmund Preparatory High School, to be celebrated at its Anniversary
Gala on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Giando on the Water, Brooklyn, New
York; and
WHEREAS, A proud member of the Class of 1982, Lisa Mammone Rossi was
an active and involved leader during her time at St. Edmund Preparatory
High School; and
WHEREAS, Lisa Mammone Rossi, a conscientious and hardworking
student, was selected to the National Honor Society and recognized as
the Class Valedictorian; and
WHEREAS, While she enjoyed the Italian and Social Studies Club, Lisa
Mammone Rossi was most engaged as a member of the Student Council,
serving as Class President and Student Council President her Senior
Year; and
WHEREAS, Lisa Mammone Rossi pursued her dreams at St. John's
University, where she earned both her Bachelor of Arts degree and Juris
Doctor before being admitted to the Bar in 1990; and
WHEREAS, This extraordinary woman has spent the majority of her
illustrious law career at Martyn Toher Martyn & Rossi, where she has
served as House Counsel for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company; her
numerous professional affiliations include past President of the
Nassau/Suffolk Trial Lawyers Bar Association and lecturer for the Nassau
Academy of Law and the NYS Bar Association; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Lisa Mammone Rossi enjoys serving as a trial
competition judge and evaluator at her alma mater, St. John's University
and Hofstra University; and
WHEREAS, Lisa Mammone Rossi served as a member of the St. Edmund
Preparatory High School Board for five years, during which time she
provided counsel on a number of critical issues; she has continuously
proven to be a faithful steward of the school's mission through her
dedication and thoughtful service; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Lisa M. Rossi has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Lisa M. Rossi, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Lisa M. Rossi upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by St. Edmund Preparatory High School on April 22, 2018; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Lisa M. Rossi.
