Senate Resolution No. 4487

COMMENDING Alba Life Inc. upon the occasion of
celebrating its 10th Anniversary on April 29, 2018

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body, in keeping with
its time-honored traditions, to recognize and pay tribute to those
organizations which foster ethnic pride and enhance the profile of
cultural diversity which strengthens the fabric of the communities of
New York State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Alba Life Inc. upon the occasion of its 10th Anniversary to be
celebrated at a Gala Concert on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at the Symphony
Space in Manhattan, New York; and

WHEREAS, Qemal Zylo and his family migrated to the United States
after the Albanian Civil War in 1997; the Zylos quickly realized that
thousands of foreign born children living in America did not speak the
Albanian language; subsequently, the family established the Albanian
School in Staten Island, New York; and

WHEREAS, Through the last decade, the Albanian School has expanded
with additional locations in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens; today, it
continues to be the only Albanian school in New York City; and

WHEREAS, Concurrently, "Alba Life" TV began with the goal to raise
cultural awareness and sensitize the public by promoting the Albanian
culture and traditions; within the last 10 years, "Alba Life" TV has
transmitted hundreds of shows and interviews with notable Albanian and
American personalities and success stories, making it an important facet
in the Albanian diaspora; and

WHEREAS, The success of Alba Life is in direct correlation to the
efforts of its Founder/President Qemal Zylo and his staff, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of
excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the institution and the
community it serves; and

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging
exceptional organizations which distinguish themselves by serving the
community and its constituents, and which deserve unique recognition;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Alba Life Inc. upon the occasion of celebrating its 10th
Anniversary; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Qemal Zylo, Founder/President, Alba Life Inc.
