HONORING Chris Schmidt upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Sullivan
County Democrat 2018 Men at Work Edition

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and

WHEREAS, Chris Schmidt has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special recognition; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Chris
Schmidt upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by
the Sullivan County Democrat 2018 Men at Work Edition; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Liberty, New York, Chris Schmidt attended
Monticello High School and graduated from Western New England College in
1999; and

WHEREAS, For 28 years, Chris Schmidt has worked in various
capacities for the family business; he mainly works for Schmidt's
Wholesale, Inc. but also deals with Schmidt's Rentals, Catskill Property
Management, and Samuel's Sports Bar in Massachusetts; and

WHEREAS, Chris Schmidt is a vital member of the Boards of both the
Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce and Workforce Development, and
assists with the Monticello High School Academy of Finance; and

WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his professional and
community service, a period of constructive involvement, Chris Schmidt
has stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and

WHEREAS, When he is not working or helping someone, Chris Schmidt
loves to spend time with his family and friends; he also enjoys crossfit
training, and during the fall, he can often be found outdoors hunting;
and

WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Lisa, their
daughter, Megan, and his father, Gary, all of whom have shown him love
and support and rejoice in his many achievements; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Chris Schmidt upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Sullivan County Democrat 2018 Men at Work Edition;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Chris Schmidt.
