HONORING the New York School of Music upon the
occasion of its designation as Community Business of
the Year by the Village of Walden

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those organizations within our midst who have
made significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and

WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary organizations and individuals it wishes to
recognize for their valued contributions to the success and progress of
society and publicly acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the
basic humanity among us all; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the New York
School of Music upon the occasion of its designation as Community
Business of the Year by the Village of Walden; this momentous occasion
was celebrated at its 7th Annual Leadership Day Awards Ceremony on
Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Municipal Hall; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious award is given to a Walden business that
demonstrates outstanding community support and involvement, is dedicated
to the betterment of our community while displaying leadership
characteristics that encourage Village of Walden residents and
businesses to do the same; the New York School of Music is one such
business; and

WHEREAS, Owned and operated by Donna Hall, who encourages her
students to achieve musically and build character, the New York School
of Music is an active Walden community business and participates in
countless village events; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor those
businesses within the State of New York which distinguish themselves
through outstanding professional behavior and enduring commitment to the
community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the New York School of Music upon the occasion of its designation
as Community Business of the Year by the Village of Walden; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Donna Hall, the New York School of Music.
