CONGRATULATING Leo P. Amyotte on the occasion of
celebrating his 100th Birthday on April 28, 2018

WHEREAS, Leo P. Amyotte was born in Trout River, Canada, on April
28, 1918, to George and Minnie Amyotte; and

WHEREAS, He was raised on the family's farm in Constable, New York,
along with his six siblings; and

WHEREAS, Leo P. Amyotte married Mabel Compeau on November 7, 1945,
and together they raised their family, including sons Gale, Jay, Mark
and son, Calvin, who passed away as a small child; and

WHEREAS, Leo P. Amyotte's many jobs included his work with Alcoa,
his employment at two nursing homes in Massena, New York, acting as head
mechanic at the St. Lawrence Central School bus garage, and as
maintenance man at the Treadway Inn in Canton, New York; and

WHEREAS, In 1985, Leo P. Amyott and his wife moved to Pulaski, New
York, to be closer to family; and

WHEREAS, In 2016, Leo and Mabel Amyotte moved to their current
residence at the Morning Star Nursing Home in Oswego, New York; and

WHEREAS, Leo P. Amyotte has inspired his family and his community
with his strength and they look forward to celebrating many more
birthdays with him; and

WHEREAS, This distinguished man, who has experienced the incredible
joys and sorrows characteristic of and reserved for those with the
stamina and courage to savor a full life, has inspired the lives of his
many friends and family; and

WHEREAS, Leo P. Amyotte has enriched the lives of those around him
through his joyous and sincere love for life and through the quiescent
charm and wisdom which comes only from a fullness of years; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize those who have reached such a remarkable age and who have
witnessed and celebrated the innovations, cultural developments and
awesome achievements of this country during the last century, while
themselves contributing to the growth and excellence of this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Leo P. Amyotte upon the occasion of celebrating his 100th
Birthday; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Leo P. Amyotte.
