COMMENDING Rhea M. McCone upon the occasion of her
designation as Guest of Honor by the Brooklyn
Shamrocks GFC on May 4, 2018

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Rhea M. McCone upon the occasion of her designation as Guest of
Honor by the Brooklyn Shamrocks GFC, to be celebrated at its 41st Annual
Dinner Dance on Friday, May 4, 2018, at Bay Ridge Manor, Brooklyn, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Born and raised in Syracuse, New York, Rhea M. McCone
graduated from Niagara University in 1984, and went on to complete
Adelphi University's Paralegal Certification program; and

WHEREAS, Rhea M. McCone began her illustrious career in title
insurance while working at a search and closing company during summers
in college; she then worked at a law firm in Syracuse as a Paralegal and
Title Officer; and

WHEREAS, Rhea M. McCone and her husband relocated to Bay Ridge,
Brooklyn in 1987; she continued in the Title Insurance Industry as an
Agency Representative for Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company and
in 1997, she joined Stewart Title Insurance Company as the New York
State Agency Manager; and

WHEREAS, In 2003, Rhea M. McCone formed her own company, Harbour
Abstract Agency, Ltd.; after 15 years in business she merged her company
with Primary Land Services, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, A true asset to her community, Rhea M. McCone is currently
a member of Community Board 10, an Officer of the Third Avenue Merchants
and a licensed member of the New York State Land Title Association; and

WHEREAS, Past President of St. Anselm's Home School Association,
Rhea M. McCone is a member of the County Carlow Association and a
staunch supporter of the Brooklyn Shamrocks Football Club and the
Emerald Isle Immigration Center; and

WHEREAS, Rhea M. McCone supports the Irish Guide Dog Association and
the Emerald Association of Long Island; she was an Aide to the Grand
Marshal of the Bay Ridge St. Patrick's Day Parade in 2016, and was
honored this year at Borough Hall with the Paul O'Dwyer Award; and

WHEREAS, This extraordinary woman also serves as an advocate for the
Blind and Multi-handicapped, and was previously honored by The Guild for
Exceptional Children; and


WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband of 30 years,
Cody, and their two daughters, Ciara and Kaeleigh, who have all shown
her love and support and rejoice in her many achievements; and

WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Rhea M. McCone has displayed
throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Rhea M. McCone, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Rhea M. McCone upon the occasion of her designation as Guest of
Honor by the Brooklyn Shamrocks GFC on May 4, 2018; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Rhea M. McCone.
