HONORING Ron and Marilyn Arsham upon the occasion
of their designation for special recognition by
Temple Beth Shalom on May 6, 2018
WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging
its esteemed citizens who have distinguished themselves in their
community; and
WHEREAS, Ron and Marilyn Arsham will be honored upon the occasion of
their designation for special recognition by Temple Beth Shalom during
its 65th Anniversary Gala to be held at the Salem Golf Club on Sunday,
May 6, 2018; and
WHEREAS, As a member of the Board of Trustees for Temple Beth
Shalom, Ron Arsham served as President for four years, and as Youth
Liaison to the Board; and
WHEREAS, Ron Arsham also served on numerous Executive Committees for
the Temple; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Ron Arsham contributes his time to the UJA
Federation of Danbury, the Westchester Jewish Council, and the USCJ
regional council for the METNY region; and
WHEREAS, Marilyn Arsham helped create the first B'nai Mitzvah
showcase, organized trips to the Israel Day Parade in Manhattan, served
as Editor-in-Chief of the Temple Times, performed in plays, and covered
services when needed; and
WHEREAS, Currently, Marilyn Arsham serves on the Ritual Committee,
is co-chair of the Sisterhood Gift Shop, a Bar/Bat Mitvah tutor, sings
in the choir, and is instrumental in the Hebrew school program; and
WHEREAS, Marilyn Arsham once sang a memorable solo during a Yom
Kippur performance of Kol Nidrei; and
WHEREAS, Ron and Marilyn Arsham are wonderful role models and
tremendous assets to Temple Beth Shalom; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ron and Marilyn Arsham upon the occasion of their designation for
special recognition by Temple Beth Shalom on May 6, 2018; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Ron and Marilyn Arsham.
