COMMENDING AHRC New York City upon the occasion of
hosting its 69th Annual Dinner on May 5, 2018
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious organizations of the State of New York whose focus and
intent have made a substantial impact on the quality of life in their
communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend AHRC New York City upon the occasion of hosting its 69th Annual
Dinner on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel New York; and
WHEREAS, This years distinguished honorees include: Dale Hensley,
Humanitarian Award; Konica Minolta, Corporate Leadership Award; and Josh
Hirsch, Anne Kraus Award; and
WHEREAS, AHRC New York City provides resources for families
including Respite, Training Workshops, Educational Advocacy, Sibling
Services, and Guardianship Information; and
WHEREAS, This vital organization also encourages people to engage
with and become valued members of their community with programs such as
Adult Day Services, Camping and Recreation, and MSC; and
WHEREAS, AHRC New York City provides a range of in-home supports for
those with developmental disabilities including individualized services,
community habilitation, respite and residences; and
WHEREAS, With a long-standing tradition of supporting people with
disabilities, AHRC New York City not only prepares these individuals for
employment, but helps them to obtain and maintain employment; and
WHEREAS, The success of AHRC New York City is in direct correlation
to the efforts of its staff, whose involvement is, and always has been,
characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and
an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of
the organization and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend AHRC New York City upon the occasion of hosting its 69th Annual
Dinner on May 5, 2018; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to AHRC New York City.
