HONORING Landies Candies Co. upon the occasion of
its designation as recipient of the Family-Run
Manufacturing Award by Buffalo Business First on May
15, 2018

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those businesses which substantially contribute to the
economic vitality of their communities and the entire Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, it is the sense of this Legislative Body to
honor Landies Candies Co. upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Family-Run Manufacturing Award by Buffalo Business
First to be celebrated at its 2018 Manufacturing Awards Ceremony on
Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at Salvatore's Italian Gardens in Depew, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Landies Candies' award winning chocolate starts with a 130
year old Swiss recipe using only the finest cocoa beans available in the
world and harmoniously blending in real whole milk and choice
ingredients, such as fresh locally roasted nuts, to create a delightful
symphony of satisfaction; and

WHEREAS, A family-run business, Landies Candies has recently become
Safe Quality Food (SQF) Certified, and has been named to Buffalo
Business First's "Fast Track Companies" list, the top 50 fastest growing
companies in Western New York for two years in a row; with a 21%
increase in the last three years, it is the 37th fastest growing company
in Western New York; and

WHEREAS, The success of Landies Candies Co. is in direct correlation
to the efforts of President Larry Szrama and his staff, whose
involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive
commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of
excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the institution and the
community it serves; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business and its contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Landies Candies Co. upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the Family-Run Manufacturing Award by Buffalo Business
First on May 15, 2018; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Larry Szrama, President, Landies Candies Co.
