COMMENDING Anthony Sonnacchio upon the occasion of
the completion of his term as President of the New
York State Association of School Business Officials

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
those individuals within our midst whose dedication and professional
endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in this great Empire
State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and fully in accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Anthony Sonnacchio upon the occasion of the completion of his
term as President of the New York State Association of School Business
Officials; he will officially complete his term of office at the
Education Summit and Expo on June 3, 2018; and

WHEREAS, The New York State Association of School Business Officials
(NYSASBO) was established in 1948, and is a membership organization
which includes school business officials and staff from both school
districts and BOCES around the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, After serving as a member of NYSASBO Board of Directors
from 2012-2016, Anthony Sonnacchio was elected as President for the
2017-2018 school year; and

WHEREAS, As NYSASBO President, Anthony Sonnacchio successfully
carried out its mission of promoting and encouraging collaboration and
professional development, maintaining high standards and advocating on
behalf of quality public education for all students; and

WHEREAS, In addition to this important role, Anthony Sonnacchio
currently serves as the Business Administrator for the Marcellus School
District; previously, he served as Business Administrator for the
Phoenix Central School District from 2006-2012, and prior to that, as a
technology coordinator, payroll clerk and treasurer at the Onondaga
Central School District; and

WHEREAS, When he is not working, Anthony Sonnacchio enjoys spending
time with his wife, Sheryl, and their two children, Nick and Nate;
together, they love to ski, swim, golf and play video games; and

WHEREAS, The success of NYSASBO is in direct correlation to the
efforts of President Anthony Sonnacchio whose involvement is, and always
has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors on behalf of this organization and the communities it serves;
and

WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Anthony Sonnacchio has continually
demonstrated a passion for enhancing the quality of the educational
programs and opportunities offered in his district and throughout the
State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause to commend Anthony
Sonnacchio upon the occasion of the completion of his term as President
of the New York State Association of School Business Officials; and be
it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Anthony Sonnacchio.
