HONORING Anthony Cytryn upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2016 Michael J.
Finnegan Scholarship Fund Award by the
Monroe-Woodbury High School

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Anthony Cytryn upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
2016 Michael J. Finnegan Scholarship Fund Award by the Monroe-Woodbury
High School, celebrated at its Annual Awards Dinner; and

WHEREAS, The late Michael Finnegan, who attended the high school,
was a star athlete, an honor scholar, a team leader, and a treasured
son; the individual whose character and talents most resemble Michael
Finnegan is awarded this esteemed scholarship; and

WHEREAS, The embodiment of this prestigious award, Anthony Cytryn's
competitive nature has driven him to excel both in the classroom and on
the athletic field; while maintaining a high GPA in his honors courses,
he was an integral member of the football team, starting every game; and

WHEREAS, Anthony Cytryn ranks in the top 7 percent of his graduating
class, with a four-year cumulative grade point average of 95; he
received a cumulative score of 1250 on his Math and Critical Reading
parts of the SAT; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community, Anthony Cytryn is part of the
Athletic Club and has helped with the Breast Cancer Walk and Special
Olympics; and

WHEREAS, Following his graduation from Monroe-Woodbury High School,
Anthony Cytryn plans to attend Syracuse University or Marist College in
pursuit of a degree in communications; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his high school career, Anthony Cytryn has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and

WHEREAS, Anthony Cytryn, in achieving this honor, may take just
pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excellence he
brings to his family, friends, community and school; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Anthony Cytryn upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the 2016 Michael J. Finnegan Scholarship Fund Award by the

Monroe-Woodbury High School, and to extend best wishes for a future of
purposeful success and well-being; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Anthony Cytryn.
