CONGRATULATING Emilee Hanlon upon the occasion of
winning the 2018 New York State Public High School
Athletic Association Girls' Indoor High Jump
Championship
WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can only be
achieved by those outstanding individuals who demonstrate the qualities
that lead to success in athletics, academics and life in this great
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize
those young people within our community who, by achieving outstanding
success in athletic competitions, have inspired and brought pride to
their school district and community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Emilee Hanlon upon the occasion of winning the 2018 New
York State Public High School Athletic Association Girls' Indoor High
Jump Championship; and
WHEREAS, Dunkirk Senior Emilee Hanlon competed in the statewide
championship at Ocean Breeze Track and Field Athletic Complex on Staten
Island, where she set a new record of 5'7", becoming the federation and
state champion of the indoor high jump; and
WHEREAS, Emilee Hanlon now has two state titles; she won the outdoor
high jump state championship in 2017, and now the indoor high jump in
2018; and
WHEREAS, This is a huge victory for the Dunkirk Central School
District, and the community; Emilee Hanlon has excelled and clearly has
a very bright future ahead of her; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly
recognize those high school athlete-scholars who have achieved notable
success in this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Emilee Hanlon for her perseverance and dedication, and for
winning the 2018 New York State Public High School Athletic Association
Girls' Indoor High Jump Championship; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Emilee Hanlon.
