HONORING Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Brooklyn
Chapter upon the occasion of its Golden Mother's Day
Scholarship Jazz Brunch on May 12, 2018

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
those outstanding educational leaders and professionals whose dedication
and achievements have been instrumental in developing character and
academic excellence in the young people of New York State; and

WHEREAS, New York State's commitment to education is unparalleled;
its history and stature are secured by the superlative caliber of its
educational professionals and the students they inspire; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Brooklyn Chapter upon the occasion of its
Golden Mother's Day Scholarship Jazz Brunch, Queens, New York, May 12,
2018; and

WHEREAS, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Brooklyn Chapter has shown
great leadership, excellence and commitment in strengthening the
educational pursuits of young people in New York; and

WHEREAS, The Golden Mother's Day Scholarship Jazz Brunch provides an
opportunity to recognize their matriarchs, their community, their 2018
scholarship recipients, and to raise additional contributions that will
benefit future scholarship recipients and youth empowerment programs;
and

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those organizations such as Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
Brooklyn Chapter which foster pride in education and exemplify family
engagement which represents and strengthens the fabric of the people and
the State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Brooklyn Chapter upon the occasion
of its Golden Mother's Day Scholarship Jazz Brunch on May 12, 2018; and
be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Brooklyn Chapter.
