HONORING Chief Master Sergeant Amy Giaquinto upon
the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2018 Excellence in Management Award by the Women's
Business Council of the Capital Region Chamber

WHEREAS, Members of the Armed Services from the State of New York,
who have served so faithfully and courageously in wars in which our
Nation's freedom was at stake, as well as in the preservation of peace
during peacetime, deserve a special salute from this Legislative Body;
and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Chief Master
Sergeant Amy Giaquinto upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2018 Excellence in Management Award by the Women's Business
Council of the Capital Region Chamber to be celebrated at its 27th
Annual Women of Excellence Luncheon on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at the
Albany Marriott Hotel, Albany, New York; and

WHEREAS, The Women's Business Council (WBC) diligently works to
promote the full participation and leadership of women at all levels in
the workplace, the community and government; it also develops programs
which provide opportunities for women to learn and network as well as
share their expertise with each other and to address the unique issues
of women in business; and

WHEREAS, The Women of Excellence Award acknowledges women in six
categories: Distinguished Career, Emerging Professional, Excellence in
Business, Excellence in Business Development, Excellence in Management,
and Excellence in the Professions; and

WHEREAS, Amy Giaquinto proudly served her country as a member of the
United States Army, serving in Germany; upon the completion of her
military service, she married and had three children; and

WHEREAS, After 10 years of civilian life, Amy Giaquinto joined the
109th Airlift Wing; today, she is the top enlisted leader for both the
New York Army and Air National Guard; Chief Master Sergeant Giaquinto is
recognized as the first woman and the first Air National Guard member to
hold this illustrious position; and

WHEREAS, In this capacity, Chief Master Sergeant Amy Giaquinto works
for the more than 18,000 soldiers, airmen, Naval militia members and New
York Guard volunteers who serve the people of New York and the United
States; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Chief Master Sergeant Amy Giaquinto upon the occasion of her

designation as recipient of the 2018 Excellence in Management Award by
the Women's Business Council of the Capital Region Chamber; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Chief Master Sergeant Amy Giaquinto.
