HONORING Alice Holowka upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2018 Volunteer of
the Year Award by the McGuire Group's Autumn View
Health Care Facility

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to call attention
to the dedicated efforts of those individuals from across the State of
New York who volunteer their time and energies in service to the
community; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Alice
Holowka upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the 2018
Volunteer of the Year Award by the McGuire Group's Autumn View Health
Care Facility, celebrated at its 25th Annual Volunteer Recognition and
Award Luncheon; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Hamburg, New York, Alice Holowka is being
recognized with this auspicious award for her steadfast and unwavering
dedication to the betterment of her community, serving as an outstanding
example to its residents; and

WHEREAS, Since September of 2017, Alice Holowka has served as a
volunteer for McGuire Group's Autumn View Health Care Facility in
Hamburg; known for her warm smile and friendly demeanor, Alice enjoys
spending time with residents, whether it is a one-on-one visit,
transporting them throughout the building, or assisting them with
various activities; and

WHEREAS, Volunteerism is an essential element of all societies; it
provides a way in which the human values of community, caring and
serving can be sustained and strengthened; and

WHEREAS, Volunteerism promotes family and community solidarity; most
importantly, people who volunteer their time in civic and charitable
endeavors inspire others to the call of volunteerism; and

WHEREAS, Service to community and country is the foundation of our
society, and the contributions and future efforts of those in service to
them are a vital part of, and valuable asset to, the fabric of our
communities; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Alice Holowka upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award by the McGuire Group's Autumn View
Health Care Facility; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Alice Holowka.
