HONORING Judy Green upon the occasion of her
retirement after 50 years of distinguished service
as a teacher

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
honor Judy Green upon the occasion of her retirement after 50 years of
distinguished service as a teacher; and

WHEREAS, Judy Green, began her teaching career in 1968 as a third
grade teacher at the Sherman School in the Watertown, New York, School
District; and

WHEREAS, She also served as a Math, Reading and Elementary teacher
at the Kennedy School in Ogdensburg, New York; and

WHEREAS, During her 50 year tenure as a teacher, Judy Green's many
accomplishments have included serving as Judge and Problem Captain at
the Regional Level for Odyssey of the Mind, Judge at the New York State
and World Level for Odyssey of the Mind in Tennessee, Maryland and Iowa,
Committee Member for the Gifted and Talented Committee, Committee member
for Middle School Strategic Planning, member and recruiter for the
Association of Mathematics Teachers of NYS (AMTNYS), and Memory Book
advisor; and

WHEREAS, In addition, Judy Green was the driving force and
curriculum mapping leader for implementation of the program, Math
Manipulatives, and has been a lifelong learner throughout her teaching
career, participating in Professional Development and book studies to
keeping herself on the cutting edge of both technology and curriculum
initiatives; and

WHEREAS, Judy Green is a highly respected teacher, mentor, friend
and colleague to many in the Ogdensburg Central School District and all
who know her, marvel at her energy, enthusiasm and commitment to her
profession; and

WHEREAS, She is leaving a legacy of hard work and tireless
dedication to her students both past and present, and has dedicated her
life to improving not only the lives of her students but her community;
and

WHEREAS, Judy Green has clearly had an enduring impact on her fellow
workers, as well as on the entire school community, and accordingly
merits recognition and applause for her impressive dedication to others;
and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who work to support their communities by

providing their skills and talents to helping others; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Judy Green upon the occasion of her retirement after 50 years of
distinguished service as a teacher, and to wish her continued success in
all her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Judy Green.
