HONORING Jordan Russo upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Orange
County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a
2018 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jordan Russo
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2018 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; this momentous occasion was celebrated with a Breakfast
on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Kuhl's Highland House, Middletown, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Jordan Russo has
distinguished himself as a young man of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement,
purposefulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful
years; and

WHEREAS, A student at Liberty High School, Jordan Russo has a 101.77
GPA and is Valedictorian of his class; he serves as President of the
National Honor Society; and

WHEREAS, Jordan Russo is also a vital member of the cross country
and indoor and outdoor track and field teams; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community, Jordan Russo gives tirelessly
of his time and energies volunteering for the Spirit of Liberty, Elks
Lodge and as a tutor; and

WHEREAS, Jordan Russo plans to major in biochemistry at Stony Brook
University; and

WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for his classmates, Jordan Russo
has brought honor to his family, school, and community; and

WHEREAS, Jordan Russo may stand with pride in his achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of his labors and the joy of his
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as he
continues his education; and

WHEREAS, Jordan Russo represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young man, recognizing his achievements and the promise of his
future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jordan Russo upon the occasion of his designation for special

recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2018 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish him well in his future
endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jordan Russo.
