HONORING Grace Guh upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by the Orange
County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a
2018 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord
with its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its
young citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and
accomplishments exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great
State and Nation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Grace Guh
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by the
Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2018 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; this momentous occasion was celebrated with a Breakfast
on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Kuhl's Highland House, Middletown, New
York; and

WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Grace Guh has distinguished
herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and maturity,
establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purposefulness of
life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years; and

WHEREAS, A student at Middletown High School, Grace Guh has a 99.33
GPA, and is ranked 4th in her class; she is a member of the National
Honor Society and was a vital member of the softball and tennis teams;
she was the Captain of the tennis team and was the recipient of the 2018
Sojourner Truth Award for Athletes; and

WHEREAS, After graduating from high school, Grace Guh plans to major
in nursing at college with the hopes of becoming a nurse practitioner;
and

WHEREAS, Grace Guh gives tirelessly of her time and energies
volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and the Middletown Athletes Care
(MAC) Club; and

WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Grace Guh has
brought honor to her family, school, and community; and

WHEREAS, Grace Guh may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her
accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and

WHEREAS, Grace Guh represents the potential inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to honor
this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of her
future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Grace Guh upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as

a 2018 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in her future
endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Grace Guh.
