COMMEMORATING October 16, 2018, as World Spine Day
WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging
days of recognition of important issues; and
WHEREAS, October 16th is annually recognized as World Spine Day; and
WHEREAS, World Spine Day began in 2012; organizations from around
the world collaborate to recognize this important day; and
WHEREAS, World Spine Day raises awareness about spinal health and
spine disorders; and
WHEREAS, World Spine Day also provides a forum for an ongoing
discussion about the burden of spinal disorders and the sharing of best
practices; and
WHEREAS, World Spine Day further serves to promote an
interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to easing the burden of spinal
disorders; and
WHEREAS, It is imperative that New Yorkers join their fellow
Americans and others from around the world in raising awareness about
spinal health and spine disorders; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate October 16, 2018, as World Spine Day; and be it further
RESOLVED,That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to chiropractic organizations and others involved in spinal
care.
