COMMENDING the Brooklyn College Division of
Student Affairs upon the occasion of hosting its
Make a Difference Awards Dinner on May 16, 2018

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Brooklyn College Division of Student Affairs upon the
occasion of hosting its Make a Difference Awards Dinner on Wednesday,
May 16, 2018, in the Student Center at Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, New
York; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion is an opportunity to gather
together and recognize members, especially students, of the Brooklyn
College community who have made a difference on campus; the goal is to
shine a spotlight on the great works these students have done for the
College and the greater community throughout the year; and

WHEREAS, The Brooklyn College Division of Student Affairs strives to
maximize students' personal and academic success in a college setting;
and

WHEREAS, This vital organization is committed to assisting each and
every student in clarifying their goals, enhancing their potential, and
helping them enrich their educational experience at Brooklyn College
both in and out of the classroom by offering a variety of services and
programs; and

WHEREAS, The Brooklyn College Division of Student Affairs also
distributes The Student Handbook which provides information about
Brooklyn College's procedures, and numerous resources and opportunities
including important information about academic resources, campus safety,
financial aid, student disciplinary procedures, and tuition and fees;
and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Brooklyn College Division of Student Affairs upon the
occasion of hosting its Make a Difference Awards Dinner on May 16, 2018;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Brooklyn College Division of Student Affairs.
