HONORING Lieutenant Patrick McMaster upon the
occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Distinguished Service Award by the Erie County Law
Enforcement Foundation
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished officers and citizens who would devote
themselves to public service, demonstrating great courage and diligence
in providing for the care and welfare of the citizens of their
communities and this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Within every community of the State of New York, there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment and dedication,
command the respect and admiration of their community for their
exemplary contributions and service on behalf of others; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Lieutenant
Patrick McMaster upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Distinguished Service Award by the Erie County Law Enforcement
Foundation, celebrated at its Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, May 17,
2018, at Salvatore's Italian Gardens, Depew, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Erie County Law Enforcement Foundation is a nonprofit
corporation which assists federal, state and local law enforcement and
investigative agencies by providing grants for special equipment and
technical training; and
WHEREAS, Orchard Park Police Detective Lieutenant Patrick McMaster
is being honored with this auspicious award for his dedicated service
and outstanding contribution to law enforcement; and
WHEREAS, Patrick McMaster has served the Orchard Park community as a
police officer for 25 years; climbing the ranks, he was promoted to
Lieutenant in February of 2001, and Detective Lieutenant in October of
2006, during which time he was responsible for the department's New York
State Division of Criminal Justice re-accreditation in 2006; and
WHEREAS, Since 1999, Patrick McMaster has also been a member of the
Orchard Park Emergency Response Team where he is currently a team
leader; and
WHEREAS, As commander of the Detective Bureau, Patrick McMaster has
been involved in and led many intensive investigations, including a
December 2006 homicide which led to the arrest of an individual who was
responsible for two additional state police homicide investigations; and
WHEREAS, Additionally, this extraordinary man was the lead detective
for the August 2009 homicide case, resulting in a 60-plus-year prison
sentence for the accused murderer; and
WHEREAS, A distinguished member of the Orchard Park Police
Department, Patrick McMaster has continually demonstrated extreme
competence, extraordinary intelligence and diligent leadership in his
unwavering service to his community and profession; and
WHEREAS, Patrick McMaster has faithfully executed his
responsibilities, serving with dedication, loyalty and compassion,
justly earning the respect and admiration of his fellow officers while
providing his community and its citizenry with the highest standard of
service and protection; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
dedicated public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the
preservation of order and the protection of others are worthy and due
full praise for their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Lieutenant Patrick McMaster upon the occasion of his designation
as recipient of the Distinguished Service Award by the Erie County Law
Enforcement Foundation; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Lieutenant Patrick McMaster.
