COMMENDING the Haitian Roundtable upon the
occasion of hosting its 10th Anniversary with a
Soiree on October 23, 2018
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commemorate
those events of historical significance which add strength, vigor and
inspiration to the cultural diversity and quality of life in the
communities of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Haitian Roundtable upon the occasion of hosting its 10th
Anniversary with a Soiree, Celebrating a Decade of Redefining the
Narrative, on Tuesday, October 23, 2018; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 2008, the Haitian Roundtable (HRT) is an
organization comprised of Haitian-American professionals who are
committed to civic engagement as well as philanthropic endeavors
benefiting Haiti, Haitian organizations and causes; and
WHEREAS, The organization seeks to heighten awareness locally and
nationally of Haitians as an emerging constituency among key
stakeholders and institutions through networking, forums and events; and
WHEREAS, In addition, the Haitian Roundtable aims to inform,
advocate and promote Haiti as a positive brand; and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 10-year history, Haitian Roundtable
has demonstrated continuous service to the residents and communities
which it serves; and
WHEREAS, The success of the Haitian Roundtable is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to the Haitian Roundtable;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body, in keeping with
its time-honored traditions, to recognize and pay tribute to those
organizations which foster ethnic pride and enhance the profile of
cultural diversity which strengthens the fabric of the communities of
New York State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Haitian Roundtable upon the occasion of hosting its 10th
Anniversary with a Soiree on October 23, 2018; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Haitian Roundtable.
