COMMENDING the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce upon
the occasion of hosting its Annual Brooklyn Eats
food and beverage trade show on June 28, 2018

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations, individuals, and events which devote themselves to the
welfare of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce upon the occasion of hosting
its Annual Brooklyn Eats food and beverage trade show on Thursday, June
28, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Brooklyn Eats is Brooklyn's first and largest food and
beverage trade show, taking place this year at BKLYN STUDIOS at City
Point; last year's event consisted of over 100 exhibitors and welcomed
2,000 guests; and

WHEREAS, The show is aimed at local and regional
buyers/distributors, restaurateurs and consumers with the aim of
increasing visibility and sales of the variety of high quality foods and
beverages which are made in Brooklyn; and

WHEREAS, Brooklyn Eats is free to the trade and open to the public
for a fee; it is presented through the generous support of sponsors,
both houses of the New York State Legislature and the New York City
Council; and

WHEREAS, Since its inception, Brooklyn Eats has strived to encourage
consumers to buy products which are made in Brooklyn, and to appreciate
that you are where you eat; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
organizations and individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be recognized and applauded by all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce upon the occasion of hosting
its Annual Brooklyn Eats food and beverage trade show on June 28, 2018;
and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.
