HONORING Thomas Dee upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2017 Meritorious
Service Award by the Western New York State
Commercial Association of Realtors on February 2,
2017

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that individuals
who distinguish themselves in their profession and in service to their
community merit the highest commendation; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Thomas Dee
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the 2017
Meritorious Service Award by the Western New York State Commercial
Association of Realtors, celebrated at its 16th Annual Awards Dinner on
Thursday, February 2, 2017, at Acqua Restaurant and Banquets in Buffalo,
New York; and

WHEREAS, Western New York State Commercial Association of Realtors
is an organization of real estate professionals who are experienced,
educated and well-connected in the local commercial real estate
community; its members represent most of the real estate and related
companies in the Western New York area; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious award acknowledges the contributions of a
Realtor who has contributed to the real estate industry, the community,
and the Western New York State Commercial Association of Realtors; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Dee holds the esteemed title of President of the
Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation (ECHDC), an organization which
is diligently working to redevelop Buffalo's waterfront; and

WHEREAS, Water is a critical resource that is essential for all
forms of life and for a broad range of economic and social activities;
the ECHDC is transforming Buffalo's waterfront with multiple locations
for people to access and enjoy various activities along the shores of
the renowned Erie Canal; and

WHEREAS, In 2017, more than one million people will visit Buffalo's
Canalside for concerts, exercise, family activities, relaxation and
food; through Thomas Dee's tireless efforts, the area's historic canals
are being restored to provide a centerpiece for growing public and
private projects; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Thomas Dee upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2017 Meritorious Service Award by the Western New York State
Commercial Association of Realtors; and be it further


RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Thomas Dee.
