COMMENDING Upstate Wine & Spirits Company upon the
occasion of celebrating its 50th Anniversary
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to honor those
businesses within the State of New York which distinguish themselves
through outstanding professional behavior, corporate innovation, and
enduring commitment to the community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Upstate Wine & Spirits Company upon the occasion of its 50th
Anniversary to be celebrated at a party in May of 2017; and
WHEREAS, Founded by Peter and Donna Devine, today, Upstate Wine &
Spirits is owned by Todd Yutzler; and
WHEREAS, For 50 years, Upstate Wine & Spirits has provided its
customers with a first class experience when it comes to selecting the
perfect wine or spirit no matter the occasion; and
WHEREAS, In 2005, Todd Yutzler bought the store from the Devines,
who at the time, were selling a lot of high-end wines from Europe that
not many stores were carried; and
WHEREAS, A lot has changed since the Devines opened what was then
known as the Delaware Plaza Liquor Store in Delmar, New York, in 1967;
in the past year alone, the store moved into a bigger location within
Delaware Plaza to accommodate their growing inventory; and
WHEREAS, The new 4,200-square foot space has allowed Todd Yutzler to
start offering wine and spirit seminars to the public on a regular
basis; the seminars are usually between 60 and 90 minutes long and offer
people the chance to sample some of the store's latest offerings; and
WHEREAS, Upstate Wine & Spirits also offers a large array of New
York State wine and spirits, including several regional companies such
as Albany Distilling Company, Adirondack Distillery, Lake Placid
Distillery and Core vodka from Chatham; and
WHEREAS, The success of Upstate Wine & Spirits is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its staff, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors on behalf of the institution and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges Upstate Wine & Spirits' success, recognizes its
contributions to the local and State economies, and extends its highest
commendation to the corporation and its employees, fully confident that,
in its future, it will enjoy the same success which has so characterized
its past; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Upstate Wine & Spirits Company upon the occasion of celebrating
its 50th Anniversary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Todd Yutzler, Owner, Upstate Wine & Spirits Company.
