HONORING Hartwick College Center for Craft Food
and Beverage upon the occasion of receiving the
Otsego County Chamber of Commerce 2016 Excellus
BlueCross BlueShield Breakthrough Business of the
Year Award on October 20, 2016
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses that contribute
substantially to the economic vitality of their communities, thereby
enhancing the economic well-being of the entire Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Hartwick College Center for Craft Food and Beverage upon the occasion of
receiving the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce 2016 Excellus BlueCross
BlueShield Breakthrough Business of the Year Award, celebrated at its
Small Business Banquet on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at The Otesaga
Resort Hotel in Cooperstown, New York; and
WHEREAS, Now in its 30th year, the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce
has served the businesses and communities of Otsego County with programs
and services designed to foster strong economic growth and make the
county a great place to live and work; it is proud to be a vibrant and
active organization which strives to evolve and adapt to the changing
needs of the business community; and
WHEREAS, The Otsego County Chamber of Commerce annually presents its
Breakthrough Business of the Year Award to a business in Otsego County
which demonstrates innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit; and
WHEREAS, The Hartwick College Center for Craft Food and Beverage in
Oneonta, New York, is being recognized as New York State's first and
only brewing industry resource for testing, research, training and
business development; and
WHEREAS, The numerous activities conducted at Hartwick College
Center for Craft Food and Beverage are funded in part by grants from the
Empire State Development Corporation and the Appalachian Regional
Commission, a federal-state partnership; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business, its contributions to the local
and state economies, and its vibrant role in improving the quality of
life in its community, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy
the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Hartwick College Center for Craft Food and Beverage upon the
occasion of receiving the Otsego County Chamber of Commerce 2016
Excellus BlueCross BlueShield Breakthrough Business of the Year Award on
October 20, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Hartwick College Center for Craft Food and Beverage.
