HONORING Charles W. McBride upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by the
International Association of Lions Clubs District
20-K1 of Brooklyn and Queens on June 10, 2018
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Charles W. McBride upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the International Association of Lions Clubs District
20-K1 of Brooklyn and Queens, to be celebrated with a Testimonial Gala
on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Leonard's Palazzo, Great Neck, New York;
and
WHEREAS, Charles W. McBride currently serves in the esteemed
position of District Governor of the International Association of Lions
Clubs District 20-K1 of Brooklyn and Queens; and
WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Charles W. McBride, the Lions
of District 20-K1 organized countless programs to benefit the visually
and hearing impaired, raised funds in the fight against diabetes and
cancer, provided clothing for the needy, and partnered with the New York
City Parks Department to clean up parks and plant trees; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, this vital organization provides hot meals for
families throughout Brooklyn and Queens; and
WHEREAS, Charles W. McBride was instrumental in the success of two
new signature projects: the Youth at Risk Mentoring, an anti-violence
program with Life Camp, and a veterans' program which offers services
that will honor and benefit our nation's veterans; and
WHEREAS, The success of the Lions of District 20-K1 is in direct
correlation to the efforts of District Governor Charles W. McBride,
whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an
impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the organization
and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Charles W. McBride has
displayed throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to honor and support those individuals who have displayed their
commitment to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this tribute to
Charles W. McBride, that future generations may know and appreciate his
admirable character, his many benevolent deeds, and the respect and
esteem in which he is held by his peers; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Charles W. McBride upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the International Association of Lions Clubs
District 20-K1 of Brooklyn and Queens on June 10, 2018; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Charles W. McBride.
